May Day...Wind, Rain, Sun, Cold, Warm - all bundled together

The Long Weekend provided a little bit of every kind of weather. We had some tentative plans but those were based on the forecast of sunshine. Like many weekends we went in many directions. We had sleep overs with cousins, dirt biking, diner out, fireworks and some pedal biking too. The weekend was also filled with small tasks around the house.

We only had one boy home on Sunday night and that was Nik. He was seeing what it was like to be an only child...I think he quite liked it!
We went out for diner to the Keg, had a walk on the sea wall and then watched the fireworks from Anders' office which provided a great view.

On Monday Nik went fishing with Grandpa at the lake, Ben went dirt biking with a friend and Johan went to work and then spent the rest of the day with Sophie. Anders, Peter and I headed out to practice some bike riding with Peter.
Peter has not been too excited about mastering the art of bike riding. During the last two weekends we have endeavored to get him rolling along. With Mondays riding he mastered many of the skills and started to feel good about it. In fact he said,"this is a lot of fun!" who knew?!

Taking a break from pedaling to play at the play ground.
On the way home we stopped at the pathway by our house and Peter did some more riding while I took some pictures.

It definitely wasn't the warmest Victoria Day weekend we have had. The pool cover stayed firmly in place and gathered all the rain. We passed on the parade because it's not much fun to sit in the rain for an hour. We did do some barbecuing and spent some time outside together. All in all, an extra day off is always good no matter what the weather!
